Province to Send P2M Cash Aid to Quake-Hit Bogo City
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson bared Monday that the Negros Occidental provincial government will donate P2 million in cash assistance to earthquake-hit Bogo City in Cebu province.
This is another form of help from Negrenses for the quake victims.
The provincial government and other local government units in the province deployed Friday a rescue team to Cebu, led by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), dubbed as “One Negros Response Team”.

“They (rescue team) will be pulled out within the week. Only the team from Victorias City will remain as they departed only on Sunday,” Lacson also said.
In a statement on over the weekend, provincial government officials led by Lacson and Vice Governor Jose Benito Alonso thanked and commended nine local government units for being part of the One Negros Response Team to Cebu, particularly in Bogo.
The nine LGUs are the cities of San Carlos, Sipalay, Silay, Sagay, Cadiz, Talisay, Escalante, and Victorias City, and the municipality of Toboso.
“Your courage, compassion, and unity prove that in times of crisis, Negros Occidental stands not just for itself, but for the entire nation”, the provincial government officials said.
The One Negros Response Team delivered 52,100 liters of potable water to earthquake survivors in one city and two towns in Cebu.
The provincial government deployed two tankers, two mobile water filtration units, an ambulance, a rescue truck, two utility vehicles and other essential assets to support relief and rescue operations.*
