The Miss Bacolod MassKara 2025 Festival Costume Competition on Saturday brought color, culture, and community pride to the spotlight as 15 candidates showcased festival-inspired costumes representing their barangays.

Held in partnership with the Bacolod Gugma Foundation Inc., each costume was designed by a local designer and reflected the unique traditions of each barangay, such as the Agihi Festival of Alijis, Tapsanay Festival of Bata, Dinagyawan Festival of Villamonte, and Kauswagan Festival of Estefania.

Pageant Head Carlos Durana opened the event, stating, “We celebrate not only beauty but creativity and culture. This competition honors our local talent and the vibrant traditions rooted in our communities.”

The competition is part of the MassKara Festival’s grassroots celebration, giving recognition to the artistry and culture found at the barangay level. It also contributes 20% to each candidate’s overall pageant score.

The Best Festival Costume and Best Festival Costume Designer will be officially announced during Miss Bacolod MassKara 2025 coronation night.

The next pageant event, Corporate Day, will take place on October 8 at SM City Bacolod.* (BGFI)
