Miss Bacolod MassKara 2025 candidates take to the streets
The 15 candidates of Miss Bacolod MassKara 2025 were recently “spotted” not on a stage, but on the streets themselves—turning familiar city pavements into an open-air runway.
In a concept by Team Acids Productions and captured through the lens of Elbert Amar Pasoy of EP Studios, the shoot highlighted Bacolod’s streetscapes as more than just backdrops. These are the same streets that have pulsed with festival beats for decades, and the same spaces where Bacolodnons have lived, struggled, and celebrated.
“Taking the candidates out of traditional pageant venues and into the city’s everyday spaces gives a fresh lens on what it means to wear the crown,” explained Pageant Chairperson Carlos Durana Jr. “MassKara has always been about the people, and the streets are where their stories live.”
Styled by Chino Christopherson x Get Spotted, the candidates embraced an urban-chic look that merged festival flair with modern pageant identity. The production underscored the evolving role of Miss Bacolod MassKara: not just as a beauty title, but as an ambassadorial platform rooted in culture and community.
The project was supported by the City of Bacolod led by Mayor Greg Gasataya, Vice Mayor Kalaw Puentevella, Cong. Albee Benitez, and the City Council; the Bacolod Gugma Foundation headed by Rodney Mitz Ascalon; VWheels Car Rental Services; BTAO; and the Barangay Granada MassKara Dancers headed by Joedem Casabuena.
As the competition unfolds, the 15 candidates are set to bring their advocacies to the spotlight. But on this day, they reminded Bacolod that the MassKara story is just as alive in its streets as it is on its stages.*
