Bacolod Celebrates 125th Philippine Independence Day
In celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Philippine Independence, the Bacolod City local government unit gathered today, June 12, at the Bacolod City Public Plaza.
With the theme “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan” (Freedom, Future, History), illustrates beautifully how our nation genuinely embodies freedom in our own right and how we should be inspired by the lessons of our past as we work to build a brighter future for all.
The entrance of colors and flag raising ceremony were officiated by the Bacolod City public officials; Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, Congressman Greg Gasataya, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, Sangguniang Panlungsod Members, Councilors Al Victor Espino, Jude Thaddeus Sayson, Psyche Marie Sy, Vladimir Gonzalez, Bacolod City Police headed by PCol Noel Aliño, Veterans, Boy Scouts of the Philippines, DepEd Superintendent, Department heads and Executive Assistants of the City.
Congressman Greg Gasataya served as the guest speaker of the said event, also Mayor Benitez delivered his independence day message.
Part of the said rites was 303rd Infantry Brigade Philippine Army Brigadier General Orlando Edralin, PA, AFP, with the guest of honor and city officials conducting the wreath laying at the monument of the unknown soldiers, a way of honoring the sacrifices of their service for the country.
Furthermore, a civic military parade was conducted to commence the said event.*
