SYNOPSIS: At 3:00 PM today, the center of the eye of Typhoon “KIKO” (CHANTHU) was estimated based on all available data at 570 km East of Baler, Aurora (15.9°N, 126.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 195 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 240 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 20 km/h. . Meanwhile, the center of Tropical Storm “JOLINA” (CONSON) was estimated based on all available data at 400 km West of Dagupan City, Pangasinan (15.9°N, 116.6°E) with maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 105 km/h. It is moving Westward at 30 km/h. Southwest Monsoon affecting the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

FORECAST: Western Visayas including Negros Occidental and Bacolod City will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to Southwest Monsoon. Moderate to Strong winds coming from the Southwest will prevail over Negros Island and the coastal waters are moderate to rough with an average height of 1.2 to 2.8 m.

It is moving Northwestward at 25 km/h. Meanwhile, the center of the eye of Typhoon “KIKO” (CHANTHU) was estimated based on all available data at 800 km East of Baler, Aurora (15.5°N, 129.0°E) with maximum sustained winds of 185 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 230 km/h. It is moving Westward at 15 km/h. Southwest Monsoon affecting the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

FORECAST: Western Visayas including Negros Occidental and Bacolod City will experience Moonson rains due to Southwest Monsoon. Moderate to Strong winds coming from the Southwest will prevail over Negros Island and the coastal waters are moderate to rough with an average height of 0.6 to 2.8 m.
