3rd District solon initiates, facilitates funds for business ventures’ cash assistance
Third District Congressman Kiko Benitez initiated and facilitated the allocation of funds for cash assistance thru the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for sustainable business ventures, primarily home and community-based livelihood activities in the cities of Victorias, Silay and Talisay and the towns of Murcia and E B Magalona.
Area Coordinators of the District Office are currently working with LGU-based DSWD staff to identify, validate and prepare target beneficiaries for the Sustainable Livelihood Program.
Orientation has already been conducted in July and this August in Victorias, Silay and Talisay cities.
Qualified as beneficiaries are indigent families who may have already started small sari-sari stores or other income-generating ventures that are in critical need of assistance.
Cong. Kiko continues to work hand-in hand with local government units and national agencies, tapping into various programs that can provide more livelihood opportunities for families direly affected by the pandemic in the last two years, and also natural calamities that have hit their communities.* (PPR)
