P2.8-M shabu seized from female suspect

A 36-year-old female high-value drug personality yielded P2.8 million worth of suspected shabu during a police buy-bust in Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod on Tuesday night, July 5.

The arrested suspect was identified as Christine Dacumos, resident of 27th Street-Calamba in Barangay 2, Bacolod.

Lt. Col. Arnel Solis, spokesperson of Police Regional Office-Western Visayas, said today the operatives are still investigating the source of the illegal drug supply seized from Dacumos.

The Special Operations Unit-Western Visayas (SOU-6) received information only in recent weeks regarding the suspect’s involvement in the sale of large volumes of illegal drugs, he added.

During the operation, the suspect sold to a poseur-buyer suspected shabu placed inside a big knot-tied transparent plastic sachet worth P220,000.

After which, Dacumos yielded two more big knot-tied, five small knot-tied, and 17 heat-sealed sachets containing the same prohibited substance.

The recovered illegal drugs, weighing about 415 grams, were pegged at P6,800 per gram with a total value of P2.822 million.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against Dacumos, who is now in the custody of Bacolod City Police Station 8.

The operation was conducted by personnel of the SOU-6 of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group as the lead unit together with teams from the Regional Drug Enforcement, Regional Special Operations Group, and Bacolod City Police Office City Drug Enforcement Unit.* (Nanette Guadalquiver)
