Reg’l PNP Command lauds Bacolod PNP for P6.8-M shabu haul
The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) lauded the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) for the successful seizure of P6.8 million worth of shabu in a drug sting Sunday night in Banago, in the city.
PRO-6 spokesperson Police Lt. Colonel Arnel Solis said that Regional Director, Police Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo was pleased with the BCPO and with the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) for their non-stop operations against illegal drug trade in the city and in the province.
Solis said the PNP will remain relentless in going after those involved in drugs. He bared that monitoring of several groups and individuals linked to the illegal drug trade continues.
On Sunday night the Bacolod police arrested 30-year-old Napoleon “Toto” Japitan Begasa III, a high value drug target.
Police Lt. Joven Mogato, CDEU head, said they recovered a total of 16 plastic sachets and five knot-tied plastic bags of suspected shabu with a combined weight of 1,010 grams and valued at P6,868,000.
Police also recovered the suspect’s sling bag containing the marked money amounting to P3,000, and suspected drug proceeds amounting to P1,200.
Begasa is facing charges related to RA9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. He is currently detained at Police Station 2.* (DGB)
