20 teams join @senso bowling tourney; BCBC officers take oath
The Bowler’s Club of Bacolod City (BCBC) gathered twelve squads in the Men’s division and eight lineups in the Women’s group during the 1st @senso Trios Duckpin Bowling Tournament opening day at Negros Super Lanes, Goldenfield Commercial Complex, Singcang-Airport in Bacolod City on yesterday afternoon, March 18.
In the first game, KMH-AMC/JBL team bannered by rated duckpinner Essho Garcia top the scoreboard in the Men’s division with a three-bowler aggregate score of 350 pin falls; while
DayLe 1 led by Mae Memoracion got the highest spot in the Women’s side with a total score of 321 pfs.
Completing the top 3: EdgeCom of Eric Aguero toppled 340 and BCY-1 of Bobby Yap got 339 in the gentlemen; while ASSFBI/RJ Star managed by Weng Juarez scratched 287 and Smart/PLDT bankrolled by Ken Eusebio dropped 283 in the ladies.
Incumbent Bacolod Congressman Greg Gasataya expressed his continued support for any terms of sports program. “Now that we are allowed to participate in activities that need physical presence. We hope that duckpin events will normalize under this pandemic that we are in,” Gasataya further said.
For newly-elected BCBC president Eric Aguero, adjusting to the new normal is a big challenge for the duckpin bowling community. “After almost 2 years, we are back at the bowling lanes and everyone is excited to participate in this tournament that Team @senso Bacolod supported. Let’s take this opportunity to unite through the sport of bowling,” Aguero stressed.
Atty. Caesar Distrito inducted the new set of officers during the oathtaking ceremony. They were Aguero as president, Ken Eusebio & Yap as vice presidents, Pritz Posadas as secretary, Engr. Albert Ruiz as treasurer, Ulysses Pacheco as auditor, Jay Gargoles as business manager, James Toga as PIO, Edgar Jerez as chairman, Cecil Silverio as vice chairman; and
Board of directors – Steve Ramos, Mike Corral, Essho Garcia, Iran Pielago, Edwin Monserate, Reymund Lopez, Rodney Bojos, Joel Biñas & Joemarie Jopillo.
To qualify in the next round, the teams will play eight games in the eliminations and the top three will advance in the semifinals. The highest total team score in both divisions will be given a twice-to-beat advantage in the championship round.
The second game is being played as of this writing. Call time of teams this afternoon, March 19 is at 5PM, and tomorrow, March 20 – 3PM.* (NDB News)
