Cong. Kiko says his brother Albee is PDP-Laban Cusi Wing official bet for Bacolod Mayor

October 4, 2021

Third District Congressman Jose Francisco “Kiko” Bantug Benitez said his brother, former congressman Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez is the official candidate for mayor of Bacolod City for the 2022 local elections.

Cong. Kiko said Cong. Albee is under the PDP-Laban Cusi wing.

Cong. Kiko, at a press conference in Brgy. Caliban, Murcia, said Cong. Albee’s Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) was already signed by the party’s national office.

Last week, Albee was appointed provincial president of the party.

Albee and his slate is expected to file his CoC this week.

Albee, Kiko said, was also authorized to sign CONAs for candidates of the party in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City except for the positions of governor, mayor of Bacolod and congressman.

DENIES ‘HAKOT’ ALLEGATIONS

Cong. Kilo denied allegations that he has a hand transporting people from the 3rd district to register as voters in Bacolod.
“Why would I do that when I need their votes,” he pointed out.
He added that his brother Albee is running for mayor of Bacolod because of “his sincere desire to serve its people.”
Asked if how he will help his brother, he said that he tells his constituents who has friends and relatives in Bacolod ” to testify on what we do here in the 3rd district as it will be replicated in Bacolod when Manong wins.”

POLITICAL DYNASTY

Cong. Kiko also answered issues hurled against their family that they are creating a political dynasty in Negros Occidental.

His brother Albee is running for mayor of Bacolod while his nephew Javier is running for mayor of Victorias City.

“It is the right of the people to choose. As electorates, they decide,” Benitez said.

It is also based on our capacity to serve, he said.

“While we have similar beliefs and values, we are very different persons, Cong. Kiko said.*
