Marapara Rotary supports TUPV Bloodletting Drive, 136 bags collected

The Technological University of the Philippines Visayas (TUPV), in partnership with government, civic and community organizations, recently conducted a Bloodletting Project at the TUPV Gym in Talisay City, collecting a total of 136 bags of blood from volunteer donors.
Supported by the Rotary Club of Bacolod-Marapara, the Local Government Unit of Talisay through the Office of Mayor Rowena Lizares and Vice Mayor Gab Villacin, the Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation (NWTF) and JCI Bacolod, the activity drew volunteer donors from TUPV, the Philippine Coast Guard, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and the local community. Their collective effort helped strengthen the region’s blood supply and support patients in need of life-saving transfusions.
A total of 70 volunteers participated in the bloodletting drive, which was conducted in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross and the Negros First Provincial Blood Bank. The generosity of the donors resulted in the collection of 136 bags of blood, a significant contribution to local healthcare services and emergency response efforts.

The success of the project was made possible through the dedication of volunteers from the TUPV College Red Cross Youth, TUPV NROTC officers and cadets, the University Student Government, the TUPV Clinic, and the Office of External Affairs, Linkages and Consortia. Their coordinated efforts ensured the efficient and orderly conduct of the activity.* (Robert Harland)
