Balay Cadiznon: Culture That Lives On

May 25, 2026

Some places do more than stand as buildings. They bring people together and become part of community life.

In Cadiz City, Balay Cadiznon has become one of those spaces.

What started as a center for art has grown into a place where culture meets service, where artists meet the community, and where ordinary people find a reason to gather, participate, and belong.

Hill Benitez, a philanthropist and artist, recalled how Balay Cadiznon opened its doors to local Negrense talents, workshops, health awareness programs, and gatherings connected to medical missions that benefited many residents years ago.

“Balay Cadiznon has become a vital community hub in Cadiz City,” Benitez shared.

For resident Lheah Gomez, the value of the place goes beyond exhibits and events.

“Dako gid ang bulig sang Balay Cadiznon sa komunidad sang Cadiz City,” Gomez said, describing it as a space where people come together for programs, workshops, and activities that inspire participation and support.

Over the years, Balay Cadiznon has hosted exhibits, workshops, gatherings, and public events involving artists, youth, volunteers, and community groups. It became a meeting place for ideas, service, and culture.

And perhaps that is the true measure of impact.* (Erwin R. Mabugat)
