PRO NIR Anti-Drug Ops Net HVI, SLI With PhP 14.2-M ‘Shabu’

The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) achieved another major breakthrough in its relentless and intensified campaign against illegal drugs following the successful arrest of a High Value Individual and a Street Level Individual and the confiscation of more or less 2,100 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price of Php 14,280,000bduring a high-impact buy-bust operation at about 2:59 AM on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Purok Camonsil, Barangay 3, Bacolod City.

The arrested suspects were identified as alias “John” HVI, 29 years old, male, single, painter, and a resident of Purok Camonsil, Barangay 3, Bacolod; and alias “Mark” SLI, 34 years old, male, single, construction worker, and a resident of Purok GK, Barangay Cabug, this city.

The operation was conducted by Police Station 2, BCPO, with support from CDEU, BCPO, following focused intelligence monitoring and surveillance on the suspects’ alleged illegal drug activities. Through intelligence-driven anti-drug operation, operatives successfully executed a buy-bust operation that resulted in the apprehension of the suspects immediately after the consummation of the illegal drug transaction.

Recovered from the suspects were: 1. One (1) Knot tied transparent bag of suspected shabu (buy-bust item); 2. One (1) plastic pouch of suspected shabu (possession); 3. Ten (10) Knot tied transparent bag of suspected shabu (possession); 4. One (1) One Thousand peso bill (genuine money) place on top of One Hundred Nineteen (119) One thousand peso bill (boodle money); and 5. One (1) Back Pack

The arrested individuals were properly informed of their constitutional rights in a language known and understood by them. Inventory and documentation of the confiscated evidence were conducted in strict compliance with Section 21 of Republic Act No. 9165 to preserve the integrity and evidentiary value of the seized items. The suspects are currently under the custody of PS2, BCPO for proper legal disposition and filing of appropriate charges.

PRO NIR emphasized that this significant accomplishment underscores the Regional Office’s unwavering resolve to dismantle illegal drug networks and aggressively pursue individuals engaged in the illicit drug trade regardless of status or influence. The operation likewise reflects the effectiveness of strengthened intelligence operations, intensified anti-criminality efforts, and the continuing collaboration between law enforcement units and the community in safeguarding the Negros Island Region from the destructive effects of illegal drugs.
