LTO-NIR Imposes 3-Month Suspension on Erring Individual
The Land Transportation Office–Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR), under the supervision of the OIC Regional Director Jeck D. Conlu and Assistant Regional Director Monico A. Puentevella Jr., has imposed a three-month driver’s license suspension against an individual found administratively liable for allowing an unlicensed person to operate a motor vehicle.
Based on the resolution issued by the LTO-NIR — Regional Law Enforcement Section, the respondent rented a vehicle which was later involved in incidents where fuel was allegedly taken without payment or known as “Gas-and-Go” in Bacolod City.
Investigation revealed that the vehicle was entrusted to individuals without valid driver’s licenses.
LTO-NIR emphasized that vehicle owners and persons in control of vehicles have the responsibility to ensure that only qualified and licensed drivers are allowed to operate motor vehicles, in accordance with existing land transportation laws and regulations.
The agency continues to strengthen road safety enforcement and reminds the public that accountability comes with vehicle ownership and control.* (LTO NIR)
