Prov’l Govt’s Bulk Water Project Public Consultation Set May 20 in E.B.Magalona

The Negros Occidental Provincial Government’s Bulk Water Supply Project continues to move forward, with a key public consultation scheduled for May 20, 2026 in E.B. Magalona, according to Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando P. Diaz II.

The consultation will focus on the proposal to use the Malogo River as the main water source for the project, prohected to deliver a stable supply of clean and potable water to nearby towns and cities.

Atty. Diaz said the consultation is a vital step to gather inputs, address concerns, and build support among local officials, residents, and other stakeholders. It is meant to ensure the project meets community needs, adheres to environmental standards, and follows proper resource management protocols.

“This project is a top priority for the provincial government. We are committed to making sure every process is transparent, inclusive, and acceptable to the people who will directly benefit from this initiative,” Diaz stated.

Once completed, the Bulk Water Supply Project is expected to meet rising demand for safe drinking water, support agricultural activities, improve public health, and drive economic growth in the covered areas.

Provincial officials, environmental experts, and representatives from concerned local government units will attend to present technical details, answer questions, and discuss the next phases of implementation, he said.* (EYA via PNV)
