8 more San Carlos City workers positive for drugs
Eight more job order employees of the San Carlos City government were found positive for illegal drug use during a random drug test on December 2.
Ana Liza Macaraya, Legal Assistant III and focal person of the San Carlos City Anti-drug Abuse Council, said on Thursday that the J.O. workers are part of the 170 employees from the City Waterworks Department and City Engineering Department particularly from the Motorpool Division that were subjected to the test.
Data showed that a total of 951 city government employees were subjected to a series of drug tests from August 12 to December 5.
Of the total number of employees who underwent the drug tests, 21 were positive, Macaraya said.
She said Mayor Renato Gustilo has a standing order not to renew the contracts of J.O. employees who tested positive for illegal drug use before November and December, and they were already fired from their respective jobs.* (EYA)
