Livioco secures 1st runner-up finish in STBAI-NBT championships
Six of the best tenpin local bowlers representing Bacolod City under the banner of Bacolod Monday Bowlers Club (BMBC) joined one of the most prestigious National Bowling Tour (NBT) last June 18 to 23. It was the 4th STBAI-NBT Open Tenpin Bowling Championships held at the SM Bowling Center, SM Seaside in Cebu City.
Joined by more than 100 bowlers all over the country, number one seed Raymund Livioco of BMBC, who landed 2nd in Group B Category, ended up finishing 1st Runner-up to take home almost P35,000 in cash and a Trophy. Livioco put up a late surge of strikes during the grand finals, but eventual open champion Rico Licarte of Las Pinas put up his own 3-bagger in the final frames to win with scores 232-209.
Last year 3rd runner-up Jack Palermo, placed 6th and 4th in the Group A & B Category; while 3rd Bacolod Open champion 75-year-old Pat Mendoza, Dr. Larnie Vencer, Engr. Eric Buyco, and Engr. Ervin Espinosa were qualifiers in the Seniors and Group categories.* (JGT)
