TODA Day brings MassKara’s light spectacles to the streets

A dazzling display of lights, creativity, and community pride took center stage at the Bacolod City Public Plaza on October 14, 2026, as 20 contestants representing various Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations (TODAs) across the city competed in the Trisikat Contest during TODA Day 2026.

Transforming their tricycles into illuminated spectacles, the participating drivers showcased colorful lights, imaginative decorations, and festive MassKara-inspired designs, turning their everyday rides into moving displays of artistry and the unmistakable spirit of the City of Smiles.

For Christopher Mallo, Event Organizer, TODA Day is more than a competition—it is an opportunity to recognize the people who help keep the city moving and give them a meaningful place in the festival.

“MassKara is for everyone, and that includes our hardworking tricycle drivers. Through TODA Day, we give them a platform to showcase their creativity, celebrate their communities, and become part of the spectacle that makes MassKara special,” Mallo said.

More than a showcase of creativity, TODA Day highlighted how MassKara continues to make every sector matter by recognizing the talents, contributions, and community spirit of Bacolodnons from all walks of life.

Anchored on the MassKara Festival 2026 theme, “Share the Smile, Celebrate Gugma,” TODA Day embodied the festival’s commitment to “MassKara for All,” bringing the celebration beyond major stages and performances and into the everyday lives of the people who make Bacolod vibrant.

Emerging as this year’s Trisikat champion was Rolan Tullo of PERTODA, representing Barangay Bata, who took home ₱15,000 in cash prizes, a ₱2,000 cash voucher from Petron, and the Felicias Choice Award.

Lendony N. Alic of (SL) TODA, representing Barangay 31, secured first runner-up honors and received ₱10,000, while Leo Clemens Sajonia of CATODMTC, representing Barangay Cabug, placed second runner-up with a ₱7,000 cash prize. Sidney Samillano of BATP TODA, representing Barangay Taculing, completed the winners’ circle as third runner-up, receiving ₱5,000.

Meanwhile, the Most Numbered TODA Barangay minor award, carrying a ₱1,500 cash prize sponsored by Mushu, went to BERTODA of Barangay Bata.

Mallo emphasized that activities such as TODA Day help bring the festival closer to the communities it represents, allowing more Bacolodnons to take ownership of the celebration.

“Making MassKara matter means making sure that people see themselves in the festival. Whether they are performers, entrepreneurs, workers, or tricycle drivers, everyone has something to contribute and every sector deserves to shine,” he added.* (#MassKara 2026 SMP)
