50th National Milo Marathon in Bacolod

October 4, 2026

On the early morning of October 4, 2026, as the first light of dawn began to break, the 50th Milo National Marathon kicked off at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC), a vibrant hub of activity and community spirit. The race was set to begin promptly at 3:00 AM, a time chosen to ensure that runners can enjoy the cooler temperatures of the night before the sun rises.

This milestone event offered a variety of distances to accommodate participants of all skill levels, including 3 kilometers, 5 km, 10 km, and the challenging 21 km half marathon.

With an impressive turnout expected to be around 10,000, enthusiastic runners laced up their shoes and hit the pavement, each one driven by personal goals, whether it be to achieve a personal best, enjoy the camaraderie of fellow runners, or simply to experience the thrill of the marathon atmosphere. The marathon enjoys robust support from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bacolod, showcasing the city’s commitment to promoting health and fitness within the community.

Additionally, various city councilors actively participated in the event, further emphasizing the importance of this occasion not just as a sporting event, but as celebration of community engagement and local pride.

As the starting gun firef, the streets of Bacolod became alive with the sound of pounding feet, cheers from supporters, and the palpable excitement of a city united in the spirit of competition and celebration.* (Mark Pablo Orcena text & photos)
