PRO NIR Concludes 5TH SONA Security Deployment Without Untoward Incident

The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region successfully ensured the peaceful, orderly, and secure conduct of the Fifth State of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on July 27, 2026, with no major untoward incident recorded throughout the region.

As part of its comprehensive security operations, PRO NIR deployed nearly 600 personnel across the Negros Island Region to ensure public safety before, during, and after the national event. Police personnel were strategically deployed in key areas, while all police units remained on heightened alert and closely coordinated with local government units, partner agencies, and force multipliers to maintain peace and order.

Among the monitored activities were:

At about 10:45 AM, a dialogue was conducted at the Baldevia Building, corner San Juan and San Sebastian Streets, Barangay 13, Bacolod City, with an estimated attendance of 70 individuals; and

At about 12:43 PM, a protest rally with an estimated 300 participants marched from South Capitol Road, Lagoon to the BCGC Replica, Bacolod City Public Plaza, Barangay 12, Bacolod City. The demonstrators raised the following issues and concerns: “Marcos Singilin, Duterte Panagutin, Lahat ng sangkot, dapat managot!”; “Litisin Panagutin Sara Duterte”; “Marcos, Duterte Patalsikin”; “Pamatukan ang Makahalalit nga solar projects”; “Ibalik ang pera ng bayan”; “Ululupod nga pamatukan ang Makahalait nga reklasipikasyon kag reklamasyon sa isla; Pakigbatuan ang Tanan nga porma sang neoliberalisasyon”; and “Lahat ng sangkot dapat managot Marcos Duterte ipanagot.” The protest rally concluded peacefully at approximately 3:40 PM.

The peaceful and orderly conduct of the SONA underscored the professionalism, vigilance, and operational excellence of PRO NIR personnel, reinforced by the strong collaboration of partner agencies, local government units, force multipliers, and the unwavering cooperation of the public.
