Firearm Seized, Suspect Nabbed in Kabankalan

The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region executed a search warrant operation that resulted in the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of an unlicensed firearm in Purok Daisy, Barangay Tampalon, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, at around 4:18 AM on June 11, 2026.

The suspect was identified as alias “Joe,” 35 years old, single, farmer, and a resident of Purok Daisy, Barangay Tampalon, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

The operation was conducted by personnel of the 3rd Maneuver Company, RMFB, in coordination with Kabankalan CCPS and the 61st Special Action Company, 6th Special Action Battalion, PNP SAF, by virtue of a search warrant for violation of RA 10591.

The 3rd Maneuver Company received a report from a concerned citizen that the suspect allegedly ran amok whenever under the influence of alcohol and had previously discharged a firearm at another person while intoxicated, causing fear and alarm among residents in the area, operatives immediately conducted casing and surveillance operations. Firearms verification was likewise undertaken, which confirmed that the suspect was not a licensed firearm holder.

Based on the validated information gathered, the operatives applied for a search warrant, which was subsequently granted by the court and duly served, resulting in the arrest of the suspect and the recovery of one (1) unit caliber .357 revolver loaded with four (4) live ammunition.

The arrested individual was apprised of his constitutional rights and the provisions of Anti-Torture Act in a language known and understood by him. He is currently under the custody of Kabankalan CCPS for proper documentation and disposition, while appropriate charges are being prepared.
