PRO NIR Seizes P28.5M Worth of ‘Shabu’ in Bacolod

The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO NIR), through the Bacolod City Police Office – City Drug Enforcement Unit (BCPO-CDEU), arrested a High Value Individual (HVI) and confiscated approximately 4,200 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) value of P28,560,000 during a buy-bust operation at around 11:39 PM on May 19, 2026, in Purok Fatima, Islamic Center, Barangay 31, Bacolod City.

Arrested was identified as alias “Bongi,” (Riza), 36 years old (female), unemployed, single, and a resident of the area.

The operation was carried out by operatives of the BCPO-CDEU after the suspect sold one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer in exchange for marked money.

Recovered from the possession and control of the suspect were seven (7) heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and five (5) knot-tied transparent plastic bags containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, including the buy-bust item, with a total estimated weight of approximately 4,200 grams. Also recovered were buy-bust money amounting to P7,000.00 and other non-drug items.

The arrested suspect was informed of her Constitutional Rights in accordance with the Miranda Doctrine in a language known and understood by her. The entire operation was likewise recorded through the use of body-worn cameras in compliance with existing PNP operational procedures.

The suspect and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to Police Station 6, BCPO for proper documentation and disposition. The seized illegal drugs will be submitted to the PNP Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination, while inventory procedures were conducted in accordance with Section 21 of Republic Act 9165.

The operation was led by BCPO-CDEU, with support from the City Intelligence Unit (CIU) and Bacolod City Police Station 6 (BCPS6).

PBGEN Romano V. Cardiño, Acting Regional Director of PRO NIR, commended the operating units for the successful conduct of the operation and reiterated the relentless campaign of the Philippine National Police against illegal drugs.

“Congratulations to our operating units for this significant accomplishment. This operation sends a strong message that PRO NIR remains relentless in its anti-illegal drug campaign. We strongly warn all individuals engaged in the illegal drug trade to stop their unlawful activities now because the law will eventually catch up with them,” PBGEN Cardiño said.

PRO NIR reaffirmed its commitment to intensify anti-illegal drug operations and sustain aggressive law enforcement efforts to protect communities from the harmful effects of illegal drugs.* (PRO NIR)
