Garden Club’s Summer Escapade: A Glamorous Success

The Negros Occidental Garden Club (NOGC), a circle of members who share a deep passion for horticulture, staged its much-anticipated “Summer Escapade” recently at Nature’s Village Resort, Talisay City. The event proved to be nothing short of spectacular, radiating elegance, creativity and comradeship and drawing over 100 members for a day of fun, fashion and fellowship.

Not only is NOGC one of the most active clubs of its kind in the country, it is also one of the most social and this year’s gathering once again lived up to its reputation as one of the club’s most eagerly awaited highlights. With the theme “Beating the Heat of Summer with Glamour,” the program opened with a heartfelt welcome address by President Nonoy Napao, setting the tone for an afternoon of joy and celebration. Members, dressed in their finest summer attire, proudly marched with their respective group banners, embodying the spirit of glamour and unity.

A highlight of the festivities was the surprise group presentations, which brimmed with energy, creativity and entertainment. Lively games, hosted by Becky Zepeda and Jean Visitacion, added to the fun, sparking laughter and lighthearted competition that emphasized fellowship over prizes. Adding to the festive spirit, the April birthday celebrators were honored with a cake and a joyful singing of Happy Birthday.

The Parade of Beauties stood out as one of the main attractions, with each group showcasing exquisite outfits and dazzling colors. The elegance and artistry displayed by the participants captured the essence of the theme and drew admiration from all in attendance.

Kudos to the organizers: heartfelt congratulations to Chairperson Tess Gonzales and the Board, the organizing committees, and the chairpersons of each group for a job well done. Special thanks go to Sally Tan for her lively hosting of the program, and to the club’s energetic President Nonoy Napao for his constant dedication and for always giving the best to the members. Above all, appreciation goes to every member for their cooperation and active participation, which made the event a resounding success.
