Bacolod Arts, Cultural & Heritage, Inc. (BACHI) enters its 53rd year in 2026 with renewed energy and vision. The officers and board of directors recently convened to map out a calendar of events leading up to its Emerald Anniversary in 2028, marking 55 years of service to the community.

As part of its preparations, BACHI is launching its anniversary activities this month in celebration of National Arts Month. The lineup includes art exhibitions showcasing local talent and cultural expression; a culinary arts program highlighting heritage cooking and Negrense cuisines and a series of cultural activities designed to engage audiences across all sectors of society.

These initiatives reflect BACHI’s mission to promote and develop culture and the arts as vital aspects of human development, while bringing Filipino and Negrense heritage closer to Bacolod residents.

Founded in 1973 by the late Fulgencio “Fulgie” Viga, Jr. as the Bacolod Cultural Society, BACHI has remained steadfast in its commitment to cultural enrichment. For more than five decades, it has championed inclusivity in the arts, ensuring that culture and heritage are shared across all communities.* (Robert Harland)
