DI yields P1-M shabu in drug buy-bust; Another one yields P770-K drugs
A Bacolodnon dance instructor yielded P1.025 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust conducted by operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Station 5 in Barangay Taculing on Tuesday night.
Police identified the suspect as Arjon Ramos, 27, a dance instructor, who was arrested at his residence in Purok Gonzaga.
Capt. John Christopher Masangkay, chief of Police Station 5, said that Ramos is allegedly working under a drug personality tagged as a high-value individual, who evaded arrest during their operation last month.
The suspect serves as a warehouseman and sometimes also sells the prohibited substance, he added.
During the operation around 6:40 p.m. on Sept. 7, Ramos, considered a newly-identified drug personality, sold a sachet of shabu to an undercover policeman for P500.
Operatives then found in his possession three knot-tied plastic sachets of shabu weighing almost 151 grams pegged at P6,800 per gram, along with some drug paraphernalia.
On Aug. 5, Station 5 policemen also conducted a buy-bust in the same area where they also seized P770,000 worth of shabu from two suspects.
They arrested one of the two suspects, identified as Jaime Garde, 39. The other suspect, Jobel Blam, managed to evade arrest.
Masangkay also said that both suspects distribute the prohibited substance in large quantities to their contacts.* (Nanette Guadalquiver, PNA)
