Tenpin players from the City of Bacolod and the 11-strong D’Bowleros from Panay island competed at Lopue’s East Bowling Center, Villamonte in this city for the 3rd Bacolod Open Tenpin Cup 2023 three divisional titles on Saturday, April 22.

The highlight of the event was when 74-year old Patricio Mendoza won two straight games against a promising newbie Lotis Contaoi of Yelo’s Food Hub in Bracket A finals, making him as the Champion of this year’s Bacolod Open Tenpin tournament.

Mendoza is the CEO of Mendoza Electrical Supply located in Bacolod’s Central Market. One of the secret of his business’ success is to play & enjoy bowling, have fun, and eat a lot of bananas. His feat will be on record as the oldest bowler to win this prestigious tournament.

In the lower groups, Pato Fadollone played three games to edge out national titlist Dr. Tony Hinolan for the champion title in Bracket B and STAI Youth Lance Gerard Tan secured the Bracket C champion title against Alyana Abelada on the third game.

This annual commercial tenpin event was hosted by the newly-SEC registered Bacolod Monday Bowlers Club (BMBC) with a theme, “Recognizing Our Business Partners For a Cause”. Proceeds of which is to fund development of Youth Bowlers, Health Fund to Members, and Community Social Outreach Program.* (JGT with reports from BMBC)
