USLS grad top 2 in CPA licensure exam
The University has produced 19 Certified Public Accountants, including a second placer, in the October 2022 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE), records from the Professional Regulation Commission showed.
Kate Marie Buencochillo, Summa Cum Laude of the BS Accountancy program batch 2022, ranked second with a rating of 90.67%.
Prior to the CPALE, Buencochillo consistently topped several national pre-board examinations and national accounting competitions.
The PRC also revealed that 1,722 out of 6,665 examinees passed the exam administered by the Board of Accountancy in different testing centers all over the county last Oct. 14-16.
Furthermore, despite the pandemic and online learning modality, the University’s first time takers posted a 72 percent passing rate and garnered an overall passing rate of 67.86 percent. Both figures surpassed the 25.84% national passing rate.
