Governor reminds Negrenses to reflect on holy days, to remain safe
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson is reminding Negrenses and everyone to reflect on the holy days and to remain safe.
“My advice is still the same, we have to observe the minimum health protocols especially distancing although it is very hard especially this campaign period where people gather but still we advise them to continue wearing face mask,” Lacson told newsmen.
“There’s suspension of campaign activities so let us also reflect and remind ourselves why we are celebrating Holy Week and let’s thank the Lord for giving His life to save us. It’s just that we should reflect on that,” the governor stressed.
The governor also emphasized safety for everyone during the holy week. “If you’re travelling, drive safely, don’t drink and drive…it’s also good for the economy to travel around but let’s continue to protect ourselves”.
Alert Level 1
Meanwhile, the Negros Occidental Governor revealed that the province is bracing for Alert Level 1 classification in as far as Covid-19 is concerned starting April 16.
Gov Lacson said he received information that the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) is likely to put all local government units under Alert Level 1 on April 16 regardless of the vaccination status.
Lacson earlier said he prefers the province to remain under Alert Level 2 “because under Alert Level 1 people may become complacent”.
“I hope we wake up one day that we will have zero case of Covid-19. We should always wear mask and observe health protocols,” Lacson added.
Earlier in the week, Gov. Lacson issued alert advisories and directed the local government units to prepare for Storm Agaton, saying that the local chief executives were able to prepare even before the storm’s effects in the province were felt.*
