“BASYANG” INTENSIFIES FURTHER AND IS NOW OUTSIDE THE PHILIPPINE AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
Location of Center (4:00 PM): The center of the eye of Typhoon “BASYANG” was estimated based on all available data at 1,400 km East of Central Luzon (16.0°N, 135.2°E) (outside the PAR)
Intensity: Maximum sustained winds of 130 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 160 km/h, and central pressure of 970 hPa
Present Movement: North northwestward slowly
Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds: Strong winds or higher extend outwards up to 600 km from the center

“BASYANG” is unlikely to directly affect the weather condition in the country within the forecast period.
HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS
The typhoon is unlikely to directly affect the sea conditions over the coastal waters of the country within the forecast period. However, swells resulting from this tropical cyclone is forecast to generate moderate to rough seas over the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon and the eastern seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao. These conditions may be risky for those using small seacrafts. Mariners are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigating in these conditions.
TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
• “BASYANG” left the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 1:00 PM today. The typhoon is forecast to move generally north northeastward throughout the forecast period.
• This tropical cyclone is forecast to continue to intensify and may reach a peak intensity of 155 km/h tomorrow afternoon.
Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. TYPHOON “MALAKAS” HAS ENTERED THE PHILIPPINE AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY AND WAS NAMED “BASYANG”
• Location of Center (10:00 AM):
The center of the eye of Typhoon “BASYANG” was estimated based on all available data at 1,435 km East of Southern Luzon (15.4°N, 135.0°E)
• Intensity:
Maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 150 km/h, and central pressure of 975 hPa
• Present Movement:
North northwestward 20 km/h
• Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds:
Strong winds or higher extend outwards up to 600 km from the center
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND AREAS
“BASYANG” is unlikely to directly affect the weather condition in the country within the forecast period.
TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
• “BASYANG” entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 10:00 AM today. The typhoon is forecast to move northward in the next 6 hours before turning generally north northeastward for the remaining of the forecast period. The duration of “BASYANG” within the PAR region will be brief and may exit the region tonight.
• “BASYANG” intensified into typhoon at 8:00 AM today. This tropical cyclone is forecast to continue to intensify and may reach a peak intensity of 150 km/h tomorrow morning.

The center of Tropical Depression “AGATON” was estimated based on all available data in the vicinity of Marabut, Samar (11.2°N, 125.2°E)
• Intensity:
Maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 75 km/h, and central pressure of 1000 hPa
• Present Movement:
Eastward slowly
• Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds:
Strong winds or higher extend outwards up to 150 km from the center
