Monday Bowlers Club of Bacolod (MBCB), well-known for its mission to assist health-challenged members/spouses and training assistance for youth bowlers, started the year with its community outreach program in southern part of Negros Occidental over the weekend.

Bags of essential items are expected to be received by family beneficiaries of Brgy. Maricalum, Sipalay City.*

MBCB went to Sipalay City on January 8, 2022, where Typhoon “Odette” unleashed her fury late evening of December 16 and early morning of December 17, 2021, carrying maximum sustained winds of 175 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 240 km/h, and a central pressure of 935 hPa.

To align the club’s mission theme in this activity: “We Share, We Care”; club representatives extended help to the people living in the upland areas and fisherfolk seldom reach by humanitarian aid in Barangay Maricalum, Sipalay. Through the medium of Lopez Beach Resort manager Reymond Lopez and local resident Gideon Nombre, they assisted MBCB donors in the proper identification of 83 family recipients.

The bowling group handed over a bag composed of rice, instant noodles, sardines, bottled water, laundry & hand soaps, nails, paracetamol, and clothes. A portion of the club fund was used together with the new set of officers, who donated cash with members – Noodles from Ms. Minnie Chua, Nails from Mr. Jose Tan Jr, Paracetamol from Mr. Lyndon Reyes, Fuel for canter truck from Engr. Ervin Espinosa, Plastic Cups & Plates from Mr. Eric Buyco, Additional 1 Liter Bottles from Rayian Alkaviva Water Station-Sibucao in San Enrique, Sacks of Clothes from Mr. Pat Mendoza, and Canter Truck for transportation from Mr. Carmelo Alimon.
