TYPHOON “ODETTE”

TYPHOON “ODETTE” SLIGHTLY INTENSIFIES WHILE DECELERATING WESTWARD.
Location of Center (10PM), The center of the eye of Typhoon “ODETTE” was estimated based on all available data at 470 km East of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte (9.1°N, 129.7°E)

Intensity: Maximum sustained winds of 140 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 170 km/h, and central pressure of 965 hPa
Present Movement: Westward at 15 km/h

Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds: Strong winds or higher extend outwards up to 400 km from the center. TCWS No. 2 all over the Province of Negros.


SYNOPSIS: At 3:00 PM today, Typhoon “ODETTE” {RAI} was estimated based on all available at 495 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (9.1°N, 130.8°E) with maximum sustained winds of 130 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 160 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 25 km/h. Northeast Monsoon affecting Luzon.

FORECAST: Western Visayas including Negros Occidental and Bacolod City will have partly cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorm. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast will prevail over Negros Island and the coastal waters are moderate to rough with an average height of 1.2 to 4.0 m.

It is moving West Northwestward at 25 km/h. Northeast Monsoon affecting Luzon.

FORECAST: Western Visayas including Negros Occidental and Bacolod City will have partly cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Localized thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast will prevail over Negros Island and the coastal waters are moderate to rough with an average height of 1.2 to 4.0 m.
