Mass testing in province to ‘catch asymptomatics’ to stop Covid spread set after Oct. 8
Mass testings in cities and towns of Negros Occidental will be done “to catch the asymptomatic” Covid-19 individuals to stop the spread of the virus.
The provincial government will conduct the tests, with the cooperation of the local government units, after the October 8 deadline of filing of certificates of candidacy for the 2022 election.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the testing aims to reach more than 7,500 Negrenses, adding that with the cooperation of the LGUs they wanted to achieve the goal in the shortest time possible.
Provincial consultant, former Congressman Alfredo Benitez, on his part said the mass testing is designed “to catch those who are asymptomatic…”
Benitez expressed hope a unified approach between the provincial government and the Bacolod City government will be achieved to share resources and information as the relentless fight against Covid-19 goes on in the midst of rising cases.*
