CAAP-BSA conducts full scale simulated exercise
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines-Bacolod-Silay Airport (CAAP-BSA), in coordination with the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Unit, conducted a 4-hour full scale simulated “Active Shooting Incident with IED” exercise this morning (from 8 am to 12 noon, Sept. 22, 2021) at the airport terminal.
The Simulated Exercise (Simex) was part of the BSA’s preparedness efforts to manage a possible case of shooting incident with IED which is one of the emergency situations that might happen at the airport and which may result to loss of lives and properties.
The main objective of the exercise is to test the Airport Emergency Plan (AEP) procedures, response, coordination and communication capabilities of responders when faced with this kind of situation.
This simulated exercise was participated by Bacolod-Silay Airport Personnel, Eagle Matrix Security Agency Inc., Aviation Security Group-Philippine National Police AVSEG-Bacolod-Silay Airport (AVSEG-PNPBSA)Station, Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) and K9 Unit of Silay PNP, Silay CCPS SWAT, Regional Mobile Force Battalion VI, Bureau of Fire Protection-Silay City, CDRRM of Talisay and Silay City, City Health Office of Silay City, Negros Occidental Provincial Crime Laboratory Office, Teresita L.
