Marapara Rotary preps boys for the workplace
The Rotary Club of Bacolod-Marapara and the Rotaract Club of Marapara held the fourth session recently of their computer literacy program, Project ICT.
The project is helping the boys at the Bacolod Boys’ Home with basic computer education and literacy thus preparing them for the day they enter the workforce.
Under the watchful eye of Rotaractor Genalyn Estrellanes, the latest session covered the all-important skill of resume writing. This was followed by an exercise where the boys had to write resumes for their desired careers.
“Computer literacy is critical in the workplace, for everyone from the lowest employee to the highest employer. Project ICT is all about helping prepare the boys in this vital area to give them a head start for success when they enter the workplace,” said Rolando Corona, Marapara Rotary president.
Other members of the session team were Rotarian Lander Leonillo, Rotaract president Carmela Kristina Duenas and assistant club service director Marifel Sanchez, who is a licensed professional teacher.* (Robert Harland)
