PH records today highest Covid positivity rate since April 29; Has 5,735 new cases & 176 new deaths

The Philippines registered its highest COVID-19 positivity rate in three months at 16.2%, the highest since April 29 when the figure was at 16.3%.

The Department of Health (DOH) this afternoon said the positivity rate, or percentage of people who tested positive, is considered “high” based on the metric used by OCTAResearch. An area has adequate testing when the positivity rate is below 3%.

With 5,735 new infections, the country now has a total of 1,572,287 cases, with 56,273 of which are active cases.
176 more Covid patients die.

Meanwhile, the death toll rose to 27,577 with the passing away of 176 more Covid patients.

Recovery is now at 1,488,437 as 4,069 more patients survived.*
