Javelosa, Aranda, Gamboa confirm intentions to run in 2022 polls
With the October, 2021 filing of candidacies for various posts in the 2022 elections approaches, more hopefuls have confirmed their intentions to run in next year’s election.
Former Aguisan Barangay Captain Macoy Javelosa of Himamaylan City confirmed reports that he is running for congressman in the 5th district.
Javelosa himself told newsmen he is prepared to run even against the incumbent Congresswoman Marilou Arroyo who is reported to be seeking reelection.
The 5th district is composed of Himamaylan, Hinigaran, Binalbagan, Isabela, La Castellana and Moises Padilla.
ARANDA
Former two-term Binalbagan Mayor Emmanuel Aranda, meanwhile confirmed that he is running for mayor again in next year’s election.
Aranda told newsmen although he lacks the needed resources, he has decided to make a comeback.
Incumbent Mayor Alejandro Mirasol is reportedly seeking a reelection.
GAMBOA
In Bacolod City, three-termer and graduating councilor Jun Gamboa said he is running for vice mayor in next year’s election.
Gamboa told newsmen that he will be running as an independent candidate in 2022 regardless who will be his opponents.* (Arman P. Toga)
