Atty. Ian Lee Ananoria is New Comelec-Bacolod Concurrent Acting Election Officer

Bacolod Mayor Greg Gasataya welcomes Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Ian Lee Ananoria, who will serve concurrently as Acting Election Officer of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC)–Bacolod, during a courtesy call at the Bacolod City Government Center on Monday, September 21, 2026.
The meeting focused on coordination and support between the City Government of Bacolod and COMELEC in preparation for upcoming electoral activities in the city.*

Mayor Greg Gasataya has assured his full support to concurrent Negros Occidental Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Ian Lee Ananoria, who will serve as Acting Election Officer of the Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Bacolod.

Ananoria met with Mayor Gasataya on Monday, September 21, 2026, to discuss the possible transfer of the Comelec-Bacolod office to a more accessible location for the public.

Ananoria commended former Election Officer Atty. Kathrina Trinio-Caña, who resigned from her post to serve as Clerk of Court.

“She has been very good, and it’s big shoes to fill, but we will continue the kind of public service she has shown,” Ananoria said.

He also said that despite moves by some members of Congress to postpone the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections, Comelec will continue preparations as mandated.

“As of now, we are focused, full steam ahead. Unless there is a law passed resetting the barangay elections,” he added.

Ananoria has served the Comelec for 20 years. In 2009, he was installed as Provincial Election Supervisor of Aklan. He later served as Negros Occidental Provincial Election Supervisor prior to the 2022 elections.* (Bacolod City Communications Office text & photos)
