June 12, 2026

The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region has intensified security and public safety protocols for today’s nationwide observance of the 128th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence, ensuring safe, orderly, and meaningful celebrations across the region.

PRO NIR has earlier activated its comprehensive security deployment in coordination with concerned local government units, event organizers, and partner agencies to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of Independence Day activities across the region. A total of 2,197 police personnel were deployed and strategically positioned in key cities and municipalities, with focus on convergence areas hosting flag-raising ceremonies, civic and cultural programs, wreath-laying activities, and other large public gatherings. Enhanced police visibility, mobile patrols, checkpoints, traffic assistance, and police assistance desks are established in major areas to ensure peace and order throughout the celebration.

PRO NIR emphasized that all security measures are designed to ensure the smooth and orderly conduct of activities while safeguarding public safety and minimizing inconvenience to the public, in support of the SAFE NIR DIAL 911 program, which strengthens rapid response, coordination, and public assistance across the region.

“Sa paggunita ng Araw ng Kalayaan, patuloy na pinagtitibay ng PRO NIR ang ating tungkulin na tiyakin ang kaligtasan ng bawat mamamayan. Hinihikayat natin ang lahat na makiisa at makipagtulungan sa ating mga kapulisan upang mapanatili ang mapayapa at maayos na pagdiriwang sa buong rehiyon,” PBGen. Romano Cardiño said.

PRO NIR remains committed in ensuring peace, order, and public safety during the 128th Philippine Independence Day celebration. With the full support of LGUs, partner agencies, and the community, the regional office assures a safe, orderly, and meaningful observance of this historic occasion across the Negros Island Region.* (W/PRO NIR)
