ACNN Officers Elected

The Alliance of Consumers in Northern Negros (ACNN) was formed on February 14, 2026, in response to the projected power supply shortage in the Visayas, including Negros Island Region (NIR), as announced by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) and the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
In a statement, ACNN said it aims to address the inefficiencies in the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative’s (NONECO) services, and inadequate power supply through consumer consultations and dialogue with management.
The alliance is open to the proposed partnership between Negros Power and NONECO, which seeks to rehabilitate and upgrade NONECO’s infrastructure, enhancing performance and services, it added.
With assistance from the Alliance of Concerned Consumers in Electricity and Social Services (ACCESS) and Power Watch Negros Advocates, ACNN will conduct a Consumer Education and Awareness Program (CEAP) to empower consumers and strengthen their participation in NONECO’s decision-making process, particularly in partnership with Negros Power. This initiative seeks to promote transparency, accountability, and consumer-centric governance in the power sector, its statement added.
