Tangub, Pahanocoy Top MassKara ZumDigras 2025

Barangay Tangub’s Yan-Yan Edang was crowned ZumDigras Queen 2025, while Barangay Pahanocoy’s We Care United Zumba Group claimed the Inter-Barangay Dance Fitness Championship in the MassKara ZumDigras 2025 held Saturday at the Bacolod City Government Center grounds.

The event, one of the most energetic highlights of this year’s MassKara Festival, gathered thousands of spectators and fitness enthusiasts in a spectacle of color, rhythm, and unity.

Edang received a ₱5,000 cash prize, while Fiandra Jean Pabiran of Barangay Vista Alegre and Eden Mae Guion of Barangay Handumanan** were named first and second runners-up, winning ₱3,000 and ₱2,000 respectively.

In the dance competition, We Care United Zumba Group (Pahanocoy) bagged the ₱50,000 top prize, followed by Sizzling Hotmomz Family (Singcang-Airport) as first runner-up with ₱30,000, and D’Chikaz x Force Gravity x Jammerz (Handumanan) as second runner-up with ₱20,000. Each participating team also received ₱5,000 in consolation prizes.

Special Awards went to Tangubnon Groovers (Tangub) – Most Disciplined; Zumba KD Cares (Brgy. 17) – Most Energetic; and Team Happier x Hataw Lumina (Vista Alegre) – Best in Costume.

Festival Director Rodney Mitz Ascalon lauded the participants for embodying the MassKara spirit through dance and fitness.

“MassKara has always been about unity and joy, and ZumDigras proves that fitness can be fun, inclusive, and a true expression of Bacolod’s heart,” Ascalon said.

The event concluded with a Zumba After-Party featuring Southvibes and a mass dance to “Happy MassKara,” the official theme of MassKara Festival 2025.* (BGFI)
