2-Year Old Girl Latest Dengue Fatality in Bacolod
The death of a 2-year-old girl brought to 6 the number of deaths in Bacolod City due to dengue fever since January, 2025.
The City Health Office, in reminding Bacolodnons to continue observing anti-dengue, anti-mosquito measures, confirmed the death of the 2-year-old from Brgy. Mandalagan.
It can be recalled that the first dengue death in Bacolod this year was 64-year-old man from Brgy. Alijis in February, followed by a 42-year-old woman from Mansilingan in April, a 6-year-old girl from Handumanan in July, a 5-year-old boy from Vista Alegre also in July, and 4-year-old boy from Villamonte in August.
From January 1 to Sept. 6, there were 811 dengue cases, lower than 1,406 cases and three deaths in the same period in 2024.
Brgy. Mansilingan have the highest number of cases at 86; Brgy. Taculing with 65 cases; Estefania with 51 cases; Vista Alegre with 50;
Tangub with 49 cases; Alijis, 43 cases; Villamonte, 41; Mandalagan, 41; and Sum-ag, 36; and Singcang-Airport, 36.
The CHO report indicated that children and teens represent the majority with 580 cases, 349 were in the 1 to 10 age group, 212 in the 11 to 19 age group, and 15 are infants under one-year-old.
The CHO said it continues to conduct anti-dengue drives and is urging the public to always observe preventive measures.*
