Bacolod LGU Clears Way for Supply Inventory With Temporary facilities

September 10, 2025

Personnel from the Bacolod Environment and Natural Resources Office have cleared the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility and storage warehouses inside the City Agriculture Office compound in Barangay Alijis.*

In preparation for a comprehensive inventory of government supplies, Mayor Greg Gasataya has ordered the clearing of temporary storage facilities at the City Agriculture Office (CAO) compound in Barangay Alijis.

City Environment and Natural Resources Office personnel have been dispatched to remove debris and clear overgrown grass from the area, which currently serves as storage for various city departments.

The mayor stressed that this cleanup is the initial step in ensuring the facilities remain a strategic asset for the city’s preparedness initiatives.

“This facility was used as a stockpile of construction materials, and its current state reflects clear neglect of public resources. As we ordered an inventory of materials, this clearing operation is a necessary step to ensure greater accuracy and transparency in the process,” Gasataya stated.

This action follows Mayor Gasataya’s inspection of City Engineer’s Office (CEO) warehouses last weekend. The inspection revealed approximately 4,800 hardened cement bags within the Bacolod City College compound in Barangay Taculing, along with an additional 100 unusable cement bags at the CEO warehouse in Alijis.

Gasataya announced the formation of a new supply team to manage the inventory process once the temporary facilities are prepared. Additionally, a disposal committee will be established to assess the possibility of repurposing or donating the hardened cement.

Previously, two leading CEO officials received notices to explain, and four other employees were issued show cause orders regarding the wasted supplies.* (Bacolod City Communications Office text & photos)
