City Library’s BCT Course Batches 23 & 24 Grads Hold Culmination Rites

Batches 23 and 24 graduates of the Bacolod City Public Library’s Basic Computer Training (BCT) course held a joint culmination ceremony at the Bacolod City Government Center lobby Wednesday.
The joint culminating ceremony was highlighted with display of generative AI outputs of both batches.
The program opened with a prayer by Batch 24 graduate Rosario R. Te, and a welcome message from Friends of Bacolod City Public Library (FBCPL) President Flora Carmona.
Mr. Richard Chiu, Executive Assistant to Mayor Greg Gasataya delivered the keynote address affirming the city’s support for digital literacy.
Highlights also included a performance from the MassKara dancers courtesy of the Bacolod Tourism Office, display of Degenerative AI outputs of trainees, and intermission number from BCT participants.
Inspirational message was shared by Batch 22 President Johanna Villanueva, and impression messages by special awardee Lilia C. Sanoy and Batch 23 President Jasmin D. Beloya.
Ms. Remia A. Quebrar, Registered Librarian, BCT Instructor and FBCPL founder, led the presentation of 20 graduates who were formally accepted by the guest speaker, Sangguniang Panlungsod Education Committee Chairman, Al Victor Espino. Certificates of completion and awards for special awardees were also given, followed by the induction of new Batch 24 officers and members.
The event concluded with the closing remarks of Ms. Beloya. Batch 24 President Salvador G. Malala, Jr. and Batch 22 President Johanna Villanueva served as masters of ceremony.* (PP)
