Young Bacolod Footballer Shines in Int’l Cup
At only 8 years old, Lionel Nickolai C. Binguan of Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City is already making waves in the world of football. A Grade 3 student at the University of St. La Salle (USLS) and a scholar-player of the Makati Football Club (MFC), Lionel recently proved his talent on the international stage at the Johor Cup in Malaysia, where his team emerged as Plate Division Champions.
Playing with passion and determination, Lionel scored a total of seven goals throughout the tournament, while also serving as one of the team’s reliable playmakers by delivering key assists that paved the way for MFC’s victory.
A proud product of Silay Lokal Football Club before joining MFC, Lionel’s journey is an inspiring reminder that age is never a barrier to achieving dreams when fueled by discipline, teamwork, and love for the game.
With his skills and heart for football, Lionel Binguan represents the bright future of young Filipino athletes on the global stage. His story serves as a motivation for other children to dream big, work hard, and play with purpose.* (Mary Grace P. Gonzales)
