NYLI Takes Oath as Regional Development Council PSR

Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute takes oath as one of the Private Sector Representatives (PSRs) during the Negros Island Region (NIR) Regional Development Council (RDC) Full Council Meeting on August 13, 2025, at the Plenary Hall of the Negros Oriental Convention Center, Dumaguete City.

The RDC acts as the foremost policy-making body in the region that organizes and guides all economic and social development initiatives in the area. It also acts as a platform where local
initiatives can connect and align with national development programs.

Represented by Kevin Gaitan, NYLI Executive Director, the institute was elected as Private Sector Representative under the Social Development Committee, joining government agencies and local chief executives. As part of this role, NYLI will actively participate in full council meetings and contribute to shaping the region’s development agenda.

“It is NYLI’s honor and privilege to represent young people in this crucial policy-making body,” Gaitan expressed.

NYLI is currently the lone youth organization accredited by the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development in the region.
