Rotary International Welcomes New Club in Negros Occidental

Rotary International has officially chartered the Rotary Club of Murcia-Tinabuay, marking a vibrant new chapter in community service and leadership in Negros Occidental.

Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bacolod-Marapara, the new club was formally approved last month with 18 charter members committed to Rotary’s mission of “Service Above Self.”

At the helm of this new club is Murcia Mayor, the Hon. Gerry Roxas, who will serve as Charter President, bringing his deep commitment to public service and community development.

Joining him in leadership is Vice President Johnny Reosura, also the Vice Mayor of Murcia, whose dedication to civic engagement will help steer the club’s early initiatives.

The Rotary Club of Murcia-Tinabuay draws strength from a diverse and committed membership, including Municipal Councilors of Murcia and professionals from Tricastle International, reflecting a strong alliance between local government and private sector advocates.

The club’s formation was made possible through the mentorship and support of the Rotary Club of Bacolod-Marapara.

With its charter now in place, the Rotary Club of Murcia-Tinabuay is poised to launch its first wave of service projects, focusing on education, health, and sustainable development in the local community.* (Robert Harland)
