Mayor Gasataya: Old traffic lights repaired
Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya said he has ordered for the city’s defective traffic lights to be repaired and reinstalled.
In a press conference at the Mayor’s Office Monday, he said that they looked for someone who knows how to program old traffic lights. “These measures are temporary until the city government can replace these with brand-new traffic lights,” he clarified.
Gasataya noted that out of 11 traffic lights in the city, five can no longer be repaired.
He had also asked the City Engineer’s Office, with the traffic division to identify critical areas in the city needing traffic light installation based on previous studies.
Meanwhile, Mayor Gasataya said the hiring of traffic enforcers will depend on the available city budget and the enforcers’ performance.* (Lorenzo O. Lambatin Jr.)
