19-year old Psychology student crowned Cadiz’s Dinagsa Queen 2025

A 19-year-old Psychology student of STI-West Negros University was crowned Dinagsa Queen 2025 of Cadiz City in a grand coronation pagent held at Cadiz Arena on Thursday night, January 23.

Angel Mae Baldoquin bested nine other hopefuls to claim the coveted title and crown as this year’s Dinagsa Queen.

Crowing her included Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante, Jr., First Lady Mariel Escalante and Dinagsa Queen 2024 Ayah Jane Sucajel.

Baldoquin took home P50,000 cash prize.

Chelcie Chassandra Binoya and Rochelle Ramos were named first and second runners-up, respectively.

Binoya pocketed P40,000 while Ramos was P30,000 richer that night.

Movie and television actor Gab Lagman serenaded the candidates, adding “flavor” to the coronation nite.

Baldoquin said, “I feel overwhelmed and honored to be crowned Dinagsa Queen 2025. I am determined to fulfill my responsibilities by serving the people of Cadiz City to the best of my abilities.”

She highlighted the importance of self-belief and uniqueness as key factors in her success being a certified morena.

“My own uniqueness gave me strength throughout this journey. I want to use my title to inspire the youth and all Cadiznons to remain motivated and work together for a progressive future,” the newly-crowned Dinagsa Queen added.

She also dedicated her victory to her parents, who are currently working abroad (in Poland), saying, “Even though they are far away, their unwavering support and love kept me going.”

The search for Dinagsa Queen continues to be a vital part of the annual Dinagsa Festival, celebrating the beauty, talent, and culture of Cadiz.* (CCPIO)
