P50M donation of President Marcos for Kanlaon evacuees still unused
The utilization of the P50 million donation of the Office of the President (OP) for the evacuees of the Kanlaon eruption is still hanging as of this week.
This, after MalacaƱang required the Negros Occidental provincial government to submit a copy of the resolution passed by the Sanggunian Panlalawigan, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said.
Earlier, the governor said they already submitted to the OP a signed copy of the Deed of Donation.
An additional requirement, the SP resolution with witnesses was required from the Capitol, Lacson said.
He said he is optimistic that by next week they can comply with the documentary requirements of the OP so that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. can sign the Deed of Donation.
“Hopefully we can iron out the details so that the amount can be utilized for the food of the evacuees,” Lacson said.* (EYA)
