Bacolod NGC, Prov’l Health Office on lockdown

The New Government Center of Bacolod City and the Provincial Health Office of Negros Occidental are placed under lockdown effective today (August 10, 2020).

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia said the August 10 to 16 closure of all offices at NGC is to give way for disinfection and preventive decontamination.
At least two city employees reportedly died due to complications caused by Covid infection, while others are under quarantine.

MEANWHILE, the Provincial Health Office located at Benjamin Hall, 4th Street, Bacolod City is also under lockdown since this morning after a nurse was tested positive for Covid- 19.

Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, provincial administrator, said he was informed by Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ernell Tumimbang that the whole compound will be disinfected as a precautionary measure.

He added that a contract tracing was conducted and the patient was already brought to an isolation facility.*
